El senador estadounidense Harry Reid ha decidido aplazar indefinidamente las votaciones de la ley PIPA (Protect IP Act), y al mismo tiempo el senador Lamar Smith ha anunciado que también retrasará la consideración para tirar adelante la ley SOPA. El cierre de varios grandes portales web y el clamor de millones de navegantes ha dado resultado. En palabras del senador Smith:

Aunque no esté muy de acuerdo con su visión patriótica de “robo y venta de productos americanos”, se ha conseguido que las amenazadoras leyes que promovían la censura preventiva de cualquier web se vean frenadas. Y eso es una muy buena noticia. ¿Quizás el enorme ataque de Anonymous ha ayudado a la toma de esta decisión?
Aunque evidentemente van a seguir intentando salirse con la suya, esto no termina aquí ni mucho menos. Hace poco dijeron que la ley SOPA quedaba aplazada, después que la intentarían retomar y ahora que la vuelven a aplazar... ahora falta que la vuelvan a impulsar de nuevo, que lo harán, que nadie lo dude.
Pero bueno, algo es algo. Bien por los internautas que protestaron.
Estoy de acuerdo, es una tonteria realmente, van a volver uno y otra vez, con distinto nombre y todo lo que tu quieras, pero volveran, hasta que algun juez corrupto les de la razon, y entonces SE ABRE LA VEDA!!!

A big hurrah to you!!!!! We’ve won for now -- SOPA and PIPA were dropped by Congress today -- the votes we’ve been scrambling to mobilize against have been cancelled.

On January 18th, 13 million of us took the time to tell Congress to protect free speech rights on the internet. Hundreds of millions, maybe a billion, people all around the world saw what we did on Wednesday. See the amazing numbers here and tell everyone what you did.

The MPAA (the lobby for big movie studios which created these terrible bills) was shocked and seemingly humbled. “‘This was a whole new different game all of a sudden,’ MPAA Chairman and former Senator Chris Dodd told the New York Times. ‘[PIPA and SOPA were] considered by many to be a slam dunk.’”
“'This is altogether a new effect,' Mr. Dodd said, comparing the online movement to the Arab Spring. He could not remember seeing 'an effort that was moving with this degree of support change this dramatically' in the last four decades, he added."

That is the arrangement that opponents of the bill have suggested would be required of American sites if they are compelled to police their users’ content for copyright violations. On Weibo, joking about SOPA’s similarities to Chinese censorship was sensitive enough that some posts on the subject were almost certainly deleted (though it can be hard to know). ... After Chinese Web users got over the strangeness of hearing Americans debate the merits of screening the Web for objectionable content, they marvelled at the American response. Commentator Liu Qingyan wrote:
‘We should learn something from the way these American Internet companies protested against SOPA and PIPA. A free and democratic society depends on every one of us caring about politics and fighting for our rights. We will not achieve it by avoiding talk about politics.’"

Hola que tal buenos dias para algunos, para otros buenas noches, jeje luego de un largo tiempo de no postear nada por razones personales (de todos modos no postee tanto) eh decidio entrar y me encontre con este post. Bueno mi opinion sobre esto es que... EEUU tiene una mentalidad fasista,creo que el "cierre" de megaupload, como asi "la mira" del FBI que tiene sobre Taringa son cosas que lo hacen para intimidar, creo tambien que la Ley S.O.P.A "Se pospondra" para luego cambiarle seguramente el nombre y rebuscartselas para poder ejercerla, de todos modos creo algo tonto la idea de EEUU, si quieren frenar la pirateria, que lo hagan en su pais, que no molesten a los demas, ademas Internet no tiene fronteras!!!
