No se cuanto te sirva pero quizas esta sea la base; puedes buscar en youtube los siguientes video los cuales puedes descagar con jdownloader.
Y te recomiendo instalar una maquina virtual para hacer pruebas, a mi me va muy bien con virtualbox.

En el foro de bactrack habia un documento muy bueno y bien elavorado que se llamaba de cracking guide o algo parecido realmente muy bueno deberias buscarlo aunque ultimamente el enlace al pdf ya esta roto.

Otro muy interesante era sobre hacer cluster para poner a funcionar john the ripper.

Tambien quizas no tan bueno puedes buscar en este foro mi publicacion de anotaciones quizas saques algo util de ahi.
