Buenas tardes, he adquirido un portátil MSI GS72 6QC. El equipo viene con un SSD de 256Gb, concretamente el Samsung MZVPV256HDGL por PCIE.
Cargo la ISO en un pendrive, entro dentro de la imagen de manjaro y comienzo la instalación con "calamares".
Tabla de particiones MS-Dos, en el SSD monto Manjaro en la / con ext4, flags boot y raíz, sin partición swap y con el gestor de arranque en el SSD. En el HDD monto el /home.
Manjaro parece que no reconoce del todo el SSD. Aparece así en la selección de discos: "Desconocida - 238,5 GiB (/dev/nvmeOn1)". En cambio en la BIOS, obviamente, aparece como Samsung MZVPV256HDGL. Aunque no creo que sea nada relevante ya que se instala todo el SO correctamente.
Se instala y reinicio.
En el momento que se inicia, accedo a la selección de Boot, y selecciono entre las 3 opciones la primera "Manjaro Linux".

Durante menos de medio segundo se ve la pantalla roja con lineas negras, el botón de power cambia de color a blanco y vuelve a ponerse rojo, como si no pudiera avanzar.

Y ahí se queda congelado indefinidamente.
Por el congelamiento yo creo que puede deberse a algún tema relacionado con la gráfica. Es posible de alguna forma arreglar esto?
He probado usando "nomodeset" en Grub2 pero a pesar de cargar todo en modo texto, se sigue quedando pillado al final de todos los "OK" en verde.
He montado el ssd desde el liveusb para cambiar la configuración del xorg, pero no me aclaro en nada. También he probado a entrar en rootfs desde el grub pero no me aclaraba con la sintaxis.
En principio tengo instalados estos drivers ``video-hybrid-intel-nouveau-bumblebee`` tanto en la gráfica intel integrada como en la nvidia gtx960m dedicada, ya que al intentar desinstalar los demás: ``video-vesa, video-intel, video-nouveau, video nvidia y el común de video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-bumblebee`` me dice que no están instalados.
La verdad es que ya no se que hacer, no encuentro la forma de que funcione y arranque con el SO.

Tienes el modo de booteo en Legacy o CSM? Tienes una BIOS con UEFI no? Lo ideal sería que particiónaras con GPT y no DOS.

Lo tengo en Legacy.
Probé tanto en modo UEFI como modo UEFI con CSM y en ambos no me deja bootear, al encenderlo, accede directamente a la BIOS aun estando el Secure Boot deshabilitado.
Sin embargo, iniciando desde el LiveUSB y en modo de booteo CSM me aparecen estas opciones sin interfaz gráfica:

Respecto a particionar con GPT, selecciono primero el modo de booteo UEFI with CSM y repito el mismo proceso de instalación con "Calamares" pero en este caso también monto una partición de unos 300mb en /boot y con formato FAT32? Más o menos es lo que he entendido leyendo la wiki. Estaría correcto?

¿Te refieres a la ESP? ¿No la crea automaticamente el instalador de Manjaro? No se como lo maneje manjaro (realmente no se como lo maneje arch tampoco porque yo sigo con MBR), pero me parece que /boot puede o no ser una partición aparte y en /boot/efi se monta la partición ESP. Pero la verdad no estoy seguro...

No tengo mucha idea, he copiado todo el log. Primero he vaciado el log, acto seguido he iniciado sin LiveUSB para que se congelase al iniciar y después he entrado con el LiveUSB para montar el disco SSD y sacar el log. [manjaro@manjaro ~]$ su

No se como lo maneje manjaro (realmente no se como lo maneje arch tampoco porque yo sigo con MBR), pero me parece que /boot puede o no ser una partición aparte y en /boot/efi se monta la partición ESP. Pero la verdad no estoy seguro...
Según he estado leyendo, en teoría hay que montarla a parte: "For the ESP (EFI system partition) which will store the EFI Grub binary, a 512mb partition of type fat32 can be created in the partitioning step, and mounted to /boot/efi If you are dual booting then an EFI partition from a previous install can also be used." Ahora me pondré con ello.

Una vez hecho esto, he vuelto a iniciarlo pero desde UEFI con CSM y como anteriormente, tanto en ese modo de booteo como en el de solo UEFI, en el momento que pasa el logo de MSI entra a la BIOS automáticamente sin dejar opción a nada. Aún teniendo el Secure Boot dehabilitado. Es decir, solo puedo entrar en modo Legacy, y sigue congelándose. Seguramente sea tema de controladores de gráfica o algo relacionado, encontráis algo en el log que he subido antes? Alguna otra posible solución? Graciass

Desactiva el modo legacy entonces y CSM tambien. Yo no veo ningun error en tu log de Xorg. UEFI no necesita CSM ni el modo legacy. Esas opciones son para que tu sistema siga el modo de booteo de una BIOS y no de una UEFI.
En pocas palabras, si haces una instalación con MBR/DOS necesitas tener el modo legacy y/o CSM. Si estas usando GPT con UEFI entonces no necesitas ninguna de estas opciones.
Si ves que llega a iniciar el servidor de las X y se congela y sospechas que es un error de tu driver entonces presionas Ctrl+Alt+F2 para acceder a otra tty, de ahí te logueas y puedes revisar los logs relevantes.

He vuelto a seleccionar el modo Legacy y la tabla MS-DOS, ya que como habia dicho, ni en UEFI con GPT arranca, ni en UEFI con CSM, no entiendo el motivo. Respecto a loguear con el terminal, apretando Ctrl+Alt+F2 no me funciona, en el momento que se congela deja de responder cualquier periferico. Desde el terminal de grub si puedo loguear en el SO, pero claro ahi aun no he llegado al punto de congelacion. Dejo una captura de pantalla del inicio con el nomodeset activado para que veais en que punto se queda pillado, por si sirve de algo.  Aqui otra con info:  Tiene que ser algo de drivers pero vete a saber... en que logs podria buscar el fallo o que mas podria probar' (Disculpar por las faltas de ortografia, se me desconfigura el teclado en el live  )

He vuelto a seleccionar el modo Legacy y la tabla MS-DOS, ya que como habia dicho, ni en UEFI con GPT arranca, ni en UEFI con CSM, no entiendo el motivo.
UEFI no necesita CSM como te lo comente anteriormente, necesitas tener las dos opciones desactivadas. Te lo vuelvo a repetir, CSM y el modo Legacy son opciones para trabajar con sistemas que usan el metodo antiguo de booteo. Si has instalado tu equipo con MBR/DOS lo ideal sería que activarás estas dos opciones (o una combinación de ellas). Si estás usando UEFI incluso puedes tener tu particionado con MBR/DOS (pero necesitas tener tu ESP), no es necesario que uses GPT (aunque sería lo ideal). Esto es lo que yo intentaría. 1. Borrar la instalación completamente. 2. Bootear con UEFI (no en legacy, con CSM desactivado) la USB de instalación. 3. Instalar el SO normalmente (borras todas tus particiones y de preferencia particionas con GPT). 4. Booteas de nuevo. No deberías tener problemas, ni siquiera con tarjetas graficas hibridas.
