Steam permite buscar información, descargar demos, chatear con otros jugadores, acceder a logros y ofertas especiales, comprar videojuegos vía Internet...

Las promociones de Steam, las llamadas "Weekend deal" (sino me equivoco), suelen ser descuentos, pero aquí estamos hablando de que, por tiempo limitado, dejan el Portal gratis para todo el mundo. Esto supera con creces la rebaja de una "Weekend deal" ordinaria. Esto lo he cogido de la web en la que hacen la promoción: Cita de: Portal is FREE! Portal used to cost money. So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price we're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red "download" button right there to the left. No estoy seguro del significado de todo el texto (estoy muy perezoso a estas horas como para traducir :P ), pero parece que tiene que ver con la cantidad de premios que ha obtenido el juego, o algo parecido.
