Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther" was released on October 24, 2003. In addition to providing much improved performance, it also incorporated the most extensive update yet to the user interface. The update included as many or more new features as Jaguar had the year before. On the other hand, support for some early G3 computers such as "beige" Power Macs and "WallStreet" PowerBooks was discontinued. New features of "Panther" include:
• Updated Finder, incorporating a brushed-metal interface, customizable sidebar and fast-searching
• Exposé: a new system to manipulate and view windows
• Fast User Switching: allows a user to remain logged in while another user logs in
• iChat AV which added video-conferencing features to iChat
• Improved PDF rendering to allow for faster PDF viewing
• Built-in faxing support
• Much greater Microsoft Windows interoperability
• FileVault: on the fly encryption and decryption of a user's home folder
• Increased speed across the entire system with more support for the G5 Safari (web browser)

• Hard Drive Space - 1.5 gigabytes

Panther has increased system requirements over Jaguar (10.2) as it requires the computer to have a USB port. This change in requirements means that beige Power Mac G3s and "Wall Street" PowerBook G3s are unable to run 10.3. Checks are made during the install process and hence installation will fail on older machines. This requirement can be overcome by using 3rd party software such as XPostFacto.

Requirements:

• Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
• Built-in FireWire
• DVD drive for installation
• 256MB of RAM
• 3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)
Change the extention from *.fc to *.rar after you have downloaded.

Instructions:

1. Once you have all the files in the same directory (Folder). Change the extention from *.fc to *.rar
2. You can need to open spellcrafterBackUp.part01.rar and this will then start the joining of the *rar archive. (or drag all the 24 files on top of the "UnRarX" to join)
3. You will then be prompted to enter the password, which is: spellcrafter
4. Once the process is complete you will be left with 1 file called: spellcrafter.dmg -> 2.53 GB
5. Then use Disk Utility ( Found in the "Applications" Folder in a sub-folder called "Utilities" to burn the spellcrafter.dmg to a DVD-R disc.
6. Once burned to disk. Restart the computer.
7. While the computer is starting up hold down the "C" key on the Keyboard.
8. You will be then prompted to install OS X Tiger (10.4).
9. Once installation is complete, you can then input your ISP (Internet Service Provider) settings.
10. Go to the "Apple" logo on the top left corner and slect from the drop down menu the second option "Software Update" this will then update the Operating System and all relevant programs.
11. Currently the latest update is 10.4.7 depending on whether your Mac is PowerPC or Intel Core Duo.
12. Installation Complete.

ya que ya me lo estoy descargando, sino no quedara otra que aprender a parchearlo yo   

pero bueno si alguien tiene una mac le podra ser util

y el 10.4.7 sorry error de dedo  creo que es la versión parcheada o eso me dijeron 

bueno soy algo curioso sobre esto y le pregunte al que lo puso en otro foro si era posible instalarlo en un procesador intel y me dijo que si que el ya lo habia hecho , no me dicho si estaba parchado solo que la version de la 10.4.7 la habia sacado de un foro diferente a los demas y espero no sean los mismos requerimientos  o ya valio... 

bueno de todas maneras en cuanto termine de descargar todo el dvd me enterare 

en cuando lo trate de instalar les pongo la respuesta  de si sirve para procesadores intel... o no
