Well, Microsoft Office Word, has an autosave option, it save a document when your writing without user confirmation, If the PC turned off with Microsoft Office Word open and your sister was writing for a while Word Should open after Windows Restart with a sidebar with the AutoSave documents saved before System Crashed.
