Stuff you need:

PostgreSQL
Glimpse
Perl, lots of it, BerkeleyDB, News::NNTPClient, Time::HiRes, Digest::MD5 and DBD::Pg
Dedicated webserver with a few gigs of diskspace, fast CPU reqd.

Download:

Download the source

Setting it up:

Create a database 'altbin' (createdb altbin)
Unpack the sourcetree in /home/binaries
Compile glimpse and put the utilities in your $PATH
Create a spool. mkdir /home/binaries/spool/msgids /home/binaries/spool/index
Create some newsgroups to index with the 'lf-addgroup' utility. Category can be movies, sound, misc, games and software (but anything else is possible basically)
If it works, install the crontab from the bin dir. This should update all groups every 30 mins.

Futher Info:

There's lots of stuff to clean up, i'll get to that later
You probably need to edit a lot of scripts to suit your paths, your name, and that kind of stuff
I do not answer emails regarding this source, i know it's shit! (unless you've got it working and got some constructive feedback)

Entonces desde esta pagina no es para descargar lo que puedes buscar en ella?...

Alguna forma de descargar estos archivos... o son simples referencias de lo que anda rondando por la red?
